Job Summary: 

The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for leading team on Software development, maintenance, monitoring, problem resolution of development solutions with or within .NET, Relativity or other tools that relate to eDiscovery applications, databases and workflows.  This role is an effective leader of Information Technology projects from inception of the project through the maintenance phase. The role involves a teamwork approach and close coordination with other departments across all levels of the organization to define and translate requirements into sound technical solutions and execute to deliver high quality development solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:   

• The Lead Software Engineer heads a small team of software developers in prototyping, development, and release of the tools.
• Direct, supervise, mentor and develop staff to deliver operational results that meet and exceed planned expectations and consult with director for recommendations and completion of administrative tasks.

• Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new development initiatives or improvement for existing ones.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing project engineering work, as needed
• Demonstrate strong leadership through training and coaching to drive excellence.
• Ensure proper documentation is created by engineers for all project work.
• Ensure teams are properly following time keeping workflows and any outlined departmental responsibilities

• Collaborates with project stakeholders to gather project requirements to develop or improve company products, systems, or technical processes or solutions. Develops a project scope or execution plan based on project stakeholder feedback and cost/benefit analysis. 
• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of moderate to highly complex solutions (including data infrastructure, reporting, and applications) that address the informational and analytical needs of the various groups. 

• Responsible for all phases of the project lifecycle which include requirements gathering, solution design, application development, and system testing. 
• Coordinate all aspects of implementation and training to support new programs and systems.
• Analyze end user data need and develop user-oriented solutions which interface with existing applications.
• Maintain documentation for all work processes and procedures.
• Make improvement suggestions and adhere to all approved work changes for the team.
• Interact and partner effectively across all appropriate internal business teams.
• Provide backup support for all work and project efforts as needed.
• Provide leadership on team planning and growth strategy.
• Ensure execution of all industry InfoSec specific compliance matters within the team.
• Participate in major upgrades to Platform software. 
• Participate or training on business functionality for system end users. 
• Test operation of completed programs, debug as needed.
• Will ensure Security and Compliance requirements are met
• Develop functional unit testing around developed applications for testing automation.

• Acts as a team lead ensuring the workflow of all team members is systematically sound and that specified processes can be performed internally (or by an outsourced supplier)
• Organize and host project team meetings as needed

Soft skills – self starter / basic windows knowledge

Additional Responsibilities/Details:  

• Acts as a technical liaison to other departments and may be responsible for providing support to the organization’s Case/Client efforts using technology and critical thinking.

• Responsible for development & maintenance of scripts and programs to customize NUIX processing platform.
• Responsible for customization of Relativity and development & maintenance of custom modules in Relativity platform.
• Coordinate or lead all or portions of technology projects. 
• Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of decisions, escalating to Manager when necessary and updating Manager on a regular basis
• Adaptable and able to learn quickly and demonstrate a big picture approach when managing projects.

Minimum Education Requirements:   

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field, or comparable business/technical experience. 

Minimum Experience Requirements:  

• At least 7 years of experience of application development experience which includes: programming, data management, collection, modeling and interpretation across complex data sets. Programming skills (database, system, or scripting). 

• Experience using Visual Studio and C# .Net writing server-side applications.
• Experience with PowerShell, SSIS, and 3^rd party APIs to develop custom applications.
• Demonstrated ability to write SQL queries and use of Microsoft SQL Server database tables and connectivity.
• Experience with UI dev using Angular / Angular 2+ framework or React .js. 
• JavaScript experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to develop alternative solutions to complex problems and recommend the best solution to the business and project team.
• Demonstrated advanced analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
• Demonstrated mastery of test strategies, test plans, and test execution. 
• Experience with Microsoft Windows server infrastructure. 

Other Requirements:  

• Experience in eDiscovery Space is a plus.
• Relativity / NUIX Platforms experience is a plus.
• Relativity Custom Application development experience is a plus.
