Overview

The Forensics & Collections Manager, ELS is a client-dedicated role that brings prior experience in forensics and asset management to the team. This individual will apply their industry knowledge to learn client specific protocols around workstation imagining, asset management, mobile devices, and other storage media types to support the preservation, collection, transfer, and storage of data during discovery.

This role is responsible for following established client processes and procedures and will adhere to industry guidelines and best practices for evidence collection and management. This position will require a background in forensics and device management, as well as strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Enterprise Data Collections Team Lead in carrying out corporate strategic discovery goals and objectives for the client
  • Receive departed employee assets, catalogue and image as required under the standard operating procedures
  • Track ongoing collection and standardization efforts in the appropriate systems
  • Assist with revising process documentation as needed
  • Experience explaining collections methodologies, approaches, limitations to stakeholders both internal and external
  • When capacity exists, lead and facilitate remote collection of data from enterprise systems, including Exchange servers, file shares, and cloud-based collaboration and communication tools
  • Verify, analyze, and transfer secure data sets
  • Management and support with M365 preservation and Azure issues, including coordination of data delivery.
  • Record collection efforts, update chain of custody and media collection logs
  • Serve as a liaison between eDiscovery and M365 team and other critical IT teams
  • Analyze and deploy best practices applicable to the handling and analysis of electronic evidence
  • Support other team members with training and education to encourage best practices and high-quality service

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

 

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of direct experience related to executing forensics and collections efforts as well as departed employee asset management;
  • Working knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM)
  • Understanding or experience with project management methodology
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple, concurrent matters
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client expectations and maintain client satisfaction

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to anticipate client needs
  • The ability to confront unexpected problems quickly and effectively
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a simple and concise manner
  • Demonstrable expertise in Email server environments, such as M365, GSuite, MS Exchange, and email archiving environments
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services technology a plus
  • Python coding experience a plus
  • Professional certifications including EnCE / CCE / GCFE / ACE / CEDS a plus
