Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Project Manager for a dedicated role with a client’s dynamic in-house legal team. This role is responsible for high level management, delegation, and execution of day-to-day employment-related discovery, process improvement, and legal operations. The role involves concurrently managing multiple projects of varying complexity. The Project Manager will collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, IT personnel, and other members of counsel and/or the client legal team to ensure the successful completion of eDiscovery matters.

 

Responsibilities

  • Management of Projects

    • Providing end-to-end oversight of multiple, concurrent eDiscovery matters, serving as primary client point of contact;
    • Ensure compliance with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) during the discovery lifecycle.
    • Support complex discovery efforts, including responding to discovery requests, managing document production, and organizing relevant data.
    • Providing expertise and consultative advice regarding data collections, processing, review workflows, analytics, and production/export deliverables;
    • Creating and maintaining project schedules, including defining activities, sequence, dependencies, work effort, duration and associated resource requirements;
    • Support attorneys with the preparation and filing of motions, including reviewing and summarizing case materials and evidence for litigation.

     

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including HR, compliance, and IT departments, to support ongoing legal matters.
    • Communicate effectively with outside counsel, managing deadlines and ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
    • Defining, communicating, implementing and monitoring quality standards on all project deliverables;
    • Developing strong client relationships through collaborative, consultative service.

     

    Process Improvement

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the legal department, specifically related to the management of discovery, document review, and legal operations.
    • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and ensure smooth case workflows.
    • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in legal technology platforms, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems.

      

    Data Analysis and Reporting

    • Collect, organize, and interpret data relevant to ongoing legal matters, especially within the context of litigation or settlement.
    • Create reports and presentations that provide actionable insights for attorneys and management.
    • Generating and distributing standard data metrics reporting and other identified KPI's on a regular basis;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the litigation support / legal industry
  • Strong experience in managing complex discovery processes, motion practice, and employment-related cases.
  • Familiarity with e-discovery tools and platforms, including experience with EDRM and data collection, custodian interviews
  • Ability to quickly adapt to proprietary software and learn new technical tools and systems quickly
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and analyze data to inform legal strategy.
  • Strong teamwork, communication (written and oral), client management, and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client expectations, anticipate client needs, and maintain client satisfaction;
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
