Overview

The Discovery Solutions Director is a role that supports and advises clients on the use of M365 and Microsoft Purview for eDiscovery, compliance, and data management.  This role will interact regularly with clients’ in-house teams (including Legal, Discovery, Compliance, IT, InfoSec, Privacy) to implement, assess, and train on Microsoft and discovery best practices.  The ideal candidate will be a strategic, solutions-focused thinker with excellent leadership abilities and a passion for leveraging technology to drive client success.  As a strategic consultant, the Discovery Solutions Director requires strong attention to detail, problem solving, communication, and people management skills.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:   

  • Provide expert guidance to clients and internal stakeholders on the implementation and optimization of M365/Purview for eDiscovery, data governance, and compliance
  • Research and test new features and functionality to understand the impact for clients and Consilio stakeholders
  • Stay abreast of the latest features and advancements in relevant technologies and discovery best practices
  • Prepare and present educational sessions for clients and internal teams as a thought leader and subject matter expert in MS and discovery best practices
  • Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders at Consilio, Microsoft, and client organizations
  • Support clients’ strategic goals and objectives, as defined by clients in consultation with Consilio
  • Provide recommendations on retention and deletion policies, including supporting clients through the implementation of those policies and related change management
  • Advise on discovery best practices across the EDRM

Additional Responsibilities/Details:  

  • Support Discovery Solutions projects as a SME and strategic consultant, from initial pitch and proposal through project delivery
  • Provide recommendations on process improvements and opportunities for cost and risk reduction
  • Facilitate and document workflow enhancements, as needed
  • Encourage high-quality work product and a service-oriented approach across the delivery team

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements:   

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • JD optional

Minimum Experience Requirements:  

  • 10+ years of in-depth eDiscovery experience inside a corporate legal department, at a law firm, or at a discovery vendor
  • 5+ years of management/leadership experience
  • Strong expertise in MS Purview, including Data Security, Information Protection, Insider Risk Management, eDiscovery (Premium and Standard), Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • Microsoft certifications preferred (e.g., SC-400, SC-200, MS-500)
  • Hands-on experience with eDiscovery and legal hold software, such as RelativityOne, Nuix, Exterro, and other legal technology platforms
  • Knowledge of data forensics methodologies and defensible collection best practices
  • Ability to consult with Legal, Compliance, and Security teams to support investigations, litigation, or regulatory needs
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple, complex projects involving cross-functional teams operating within budgetary and schedule constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client expectations and maintain client satisfaction
