Overview

The User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Coordinator will manage the planning, execution, and documentation of user acceptance testing to ensure our software application(s) meets business requirements before deployment. The role will also manage the UAT environment(s), testing plan(s), and data required to complete a successful user acceptance test.  This role acts as a bridge between technical teams and end-users, requiring strong communication and organizational skills. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Planning and Scheduling:
    Develops and maintains UAT plans, timelines, and schedules, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely execution. 
  • Requirements Gathering:
    Works with business users to understand testing needs and translate them into actionable test cases.
  • Data Preparation:
    Works to obtain data sets that are representable to the business’s real data for the testing needs and ensures that the data is in the environment before testing begins.
  • Test Execution Oversight:
    Monitors test progress, tracks defects, and facilitates their resolution, ensuring all entrance and exit criteria are met. 
  • Communication and Reporting:
    Provides regular updates to project teams and stakeholders on testing progress, issues, and risks. 
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Creates and maintains UAT documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results. 
  • Collaboration:
    Works closely with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful testing outcomes. 
  • Defect Management:
    Logs, tracks, and prioritizes defects, following up with developers to ensure timely resolution. 
  • Process Improvement:
    Identifies areas for improvement in the UAT process and implements best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Training and Support:
    Provides guidance and support to testers, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and resources to perform their duties.

  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: 
    Effectively communicates with technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Organizational Skills:
     Manages multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring deadlines are met. 
  • Analytical Skills:
     Analyzes test results, identifies issues, and proposes solutions. 
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
     Troubleshoots issues that arise during testing and works with the team to find solutions. 
  • Technical Proficiency: 
    Familiarity with testing tools and methodologies, as well as relevant software applications. 
  • Project Management Experience: 
    Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies. 

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or similar

Minimum Experience Requirements:  

  • 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience.
