Overview

The Senior Director, UX Design, is a key leader within the technology team, fully accountable for the quality, speed, and precision of all UX design deliverables. You will be at the heart of the transformation of our Product-Design function to use AI-driven vibe coding and other tools. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who embraces the power of AI for rapid prototyping to accelerate user input and speed of design and development. The role manages internal designers and third-party contractors, collaborates with Product Managers, Engineering, the Business, and Customers, and delivers pixel-perfect, business-aligned, user-validated designs. This remote, US-based position reports to the VP, Products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the UX design process end-to-end, from concept to engineering-ready deliverables, with full accountability for every detail.
  • Leverage AI and vibe coding to accelerate design speed and quality from idea to production.
  • Mentor and guide designers and product managers to create great UX - to improve their UX thinking and execution, ensuring no gaps in workflows or screen-level detail.
  • Drive high-quality design delivery with minimal iteration through upfront business and user understanding.
  • Communicate design rationale clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels – and manage the UX team to do so.
  • Quickly learn product functionality and why it is important for users. Become demo-capable within weeks.
  • Lead the UX function with a directive-first, coaching-second leadership style.
  • Manage internal designers and third-party contractors.
  • Ensure all designs are pixel-perfect, meet business requirements, and follow the Figma-based UX Design System.
  • Provide structure, vision, and hands-on leadership in design reviews and deliverables.
  • Own and maintain the UX design system, components, and templates for vibe coding platform(s).
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering to align UX with strategy and feasibility.
  • Establish and enforce UX design best practices, documentation, and component library management.
  • Lead UX activities including persona development, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, interaction design, and usability testing.
  • Source contractors for technical work as needed.
  • Manage UX deliverable handoffs to development teams.
  • Continuously seeks faster ways to incorporate user feedback.
  • Stay current with UX trends and apply relevant innovations.

Qualifications

Experience and Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead UX teams in high-pressure, corporate environments with complex stakeholder landscapes.
  • Proven ability to manage and improve the performance of UX team members.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering high-quality work on tight timelines.
  • Deep knowledge of user-centered design processes and enterprise web application design.
  • Experience with React, HTML, CSS, JS, and working with engineering teams on component libraries.

Location:

  • This is a remote position within the continental US. On-camera presence is required for most virtual meetings. Must be able to travel up to 5% to Consilio offices, client meetings, or industry events. Preference for US Eastern or Central time zone.
