Legal Operations Analyst

The Legal Operations Analyst supports the management of law firm relationships, rate programs, and invoice accuracy across the legal department. This role focuses on analytical reporting, issue resolution, and operational support for rate negotiations, contributing to effective cost management and process improvement within legal vendor operations.

• • Investigate and resolve escalated invoice and timekeeper discrepancies in collaboration with
  billing and invoice management teams
  • Prepare spend reports and conduct rate comparison analyses for low-to-medium spend law
  firms
  • Monitor, track, and report on the impact of the overall law firm rate program, identifying
  trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Support senior team members during rate negotiations with higher-value law firm
  relationships by providing analytical insights and documentation
  • Finalize, document, and maintain rate agreements and amendments in accordance with
  company policies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps and
  recommending operational efficiencies

• • 3–5 years of experience in legal operations, finance, vendor management, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and analyze complex data sets
  accurately
  • Demonstrated analytical skills; advanced Excel proficiency required
  • Experience with Tableau or other BI/data visualization tools is a plus but not required
  • Professional presence with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across functions
  and with external stakeholders
  • Proven problem-solving mindset with a focus on process optimization and operational
  excellence

Preferred Attributes 

• Familiarity with law firm billing structures, rate negotiations, or legal spend management
• Experience working in a corporate legal department or with legal vendors
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
