About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive manager-level Release Coordinator to drive end-to-end release coordination across multiple corporate systems engineering teams. This role reports to senior leadership and is responsible for planning, sequencing, and governing releases with cross-system dependencies, ensuring predictable and well-coordinated production deployments.
The Release Coordinator serves as the central point of orchestration across teams such as Integrations, Salesforce, Finance, HR, ServiceNow, Data Warehouse, and other enterprise platforms. This role provides coordination, governance, and oversight by partnering with engineering, infrastructure, and data teams, rather than owning hands-on development or operational execution.
Release Planning and Dependency Management
· Own and manage the centralized enterprise release calendar across multiple platforms and teams.
· Coordinate release sequencing where dependencies exist, ensuring upstream system releases are completed prior to downstream or integration releases.
· Partner with engineering leads, product owners, and architects to identify release dependencies early in the delivery lifecycle.
· Ensure dependent work is planned, scheduled, and delivered in alignment across teams.
Release Execution and Governance
· Create and manage release tickets, change records, and deployment documentation required for production releases.
· Coordinate and obtain required approvals by actively participating in CAB and change management meetings.
· Ensure release readiness criteria are met prior to deployment, including dependency validation and stakeholder sign-off.
· Serve as the primary point of contact during release windows to coordinate timing, communication, and issue escalation.
Cross-Team Coordination
· Partner with Scrum Masters across teams to ensure dependencies are reflected in sprint plans, roadmaps, and release schedules.
· Facilitate regular release coordination meetings with Scrum Masters, engineering managers, and platform owners.
· Track cross-team commitments and follow up to ensure delivery timelines remain aligned.
· Proactively identify schedule risks and escalate when dependencies threaten release timelines.
Non-Production Environment Refresh and Data Readiness Oversight
· Oversee and coordinate periodic refreshes of non-production environments using production data.
· Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and data teams to ensure production data is properly sanitized and compliant prior to loading into non-production environments.
· Align environment refresh schedules with release plans and upcoming development or testing needs.
· Drive consistency across environments so non-production environments closely mirror production behavior, data structures, and integrations.
· Identify and escalate risks related to environment freshness or data gaps that could impact releases.
Communication and Process Improvement
· Provide clear and consistent communication on release plans, timelines, environment refresh schedules, and changes to stakeholders.
· Maintain transparency into upcoming releases, dependencies, and risks for leadership.
· Ensure all impacted teams understand their responsibilities leading up to and during releases.
· Standardize release coordination processes, templates, and checklists across teams.
· Improve release predictability through structured dependency tracking and release readiness reviews.
Requirements
· Proven experience in release management, technical program management, or delivery management in a multi-team enterprise environment.
· Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery, and enterprise release governance.
· Demonstrated experience coordinating releases across multiple platforms and systems with complex dependencies.
· Hands-on experience with change management processes and CAB participation.
· Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to lead without direct authority.
· Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration tools such as Teams.
· Ability to manage ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and drive alignment across teams.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on bringing structure, predictability, and discipline to complex, multi-team delivery efforts and enjoys operating at the intersection of technology, planning, governance, and execution.
