Overview

The Manager, Talent Solutions (People & Development) will join an established team of legal recruiters as part of Consilio’s People & Development team. Successful candidates must be highly motivated, exhibit a strong commitment to client service, and have the ability to collaborate with teammates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Manager, Talent Solutions is responsible for the end-to-end experience of our on-assignment legal professionals —lawyers, paralegals, legal operations talent, etc.—and professionally developing candidates.

Responsibilities

In this role, the Manager, Talent Solutions will own the assignment lifecycle (from onboarding through offboarding), deliver high-touch on-assignment care and professional development, and drive retention in a competitive, fast-paced market. The Manager, Talent Solutions, will partner closely with Client Solutions and Delivery teams to balance the candidate’s experience with client needs. Team members in this role are also responsible for building candidate rosters, networking in the legal community, and assisting cross functional teams.  The Manager, Talent Solutions, will also:

 

  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure all client-specific onboarding requirements are met before talent starts.
  • Use our automated onboarding platform and ATS/HRIS to keep records current and accurate.
  • Work with talent team members to validate candidate skills, experience, business acumen and professionalism, including final approval of candidates for placements.
  • Quickly gain credibility and respect from high qualified professionals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our on-assignment talent, ensuring responsive and proactive support.
  • Conduct regular check-ins; address day-to-day questions; identify and action learning and development needs.
  • Assist in the management and growth of existing candidate relationships by continuing to understand the legal job market, client environment, and overall legal needs to ensure candidates match the customer’s needs.
  • Handle communications on rates/salary, extension, scope changes, reductions, and offboarding with professionalism and care.
  • Prioritize wellbeing and retention; act as a trusted advisor and advocate for our professionals.
  • Support New Business and Client Solutions teams to ensure clients receive a high level of service and quality on assignments.
  • Identify and resolve assignment challenges with practical, commercially sound solutions.
  • Escalate and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely outcomes for candidates and clients.
  • Participate in both in-person and virtual legal networking opportunities to identify potential client and candidate opportunities.
  • Match existing roster and candidates to next opportunity.
  • Engage administrative team to ensure employment or client and Consilio-required paperwork is completed prior to assignment.
  • Communicate key updates, risks, and opportunities promptly; balance candidate needs with client and commercial realities.
  • Build and nurture a strong community of US legal professionals through events, forums, and targeted communications.
  • Plan and occasionally deliver professional development programming and training sessions.
  • Work independently and proactively to meet aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment, including managing and prioritizing deliverables with cross-functional teams. 
  • Demonstrate sound business judgment and ability to handle multiple wide-ranging matters and conflicting deadlines. 
  • Foster and facilitate teamwork by cultivating relationships, collaborating, and effectively communicating with teammates and cross-functional partners in the pursuit of team goals; shares information and supports others. 
  • Exhibit the ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and effectively in a positive and practical manner. 
  • Follow through to both internal and external customers. 
  • Demonstrate strong critical and analytical thinking skills and attention to detail. 
  • Exhibit an interest in learning a variety of tools, including proprietary systems. 
  • Practice and adhere to the Consilio Handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree with Juris Doctor (J.D.) highly preferred.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in legal/professional services talent management, HR business partner, or legal operations. Experience managing professionals through complex HR/people issues required. Prior legal recruiting or legal project management experience is a plus.
  • Skills:  Talent assessment and high-touch candidate care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail. Sound business judgment and commercial problem solving. Proficiency with ATS platforms (Bullhorn) and ability to adapt to technology changes. Familiarity with corporate legal departments, law firms, and US legal market dynamics.
