The Senior ServiceNow Engineer reports to the Manager of ServiceNow Engineering. This role will partake in the design and execution of solutions in ServiceNow that meet our business needs presented to us by Consilio Leadership (ServiceNow Product Owner, Business Analysts, Head of Engineering and SVP of Corporate Systems). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ServiceNow ITSM, CSM, HRIS, ServiceBridge and its associated modules; understanding how various components can be utilized to achieve a desired result. They will maintain and/or create documentation per SNOW team standards. They will adhere to Consilio ServiceNow team standards, sprint processes and actively communicate on calls, in JIRA, and collaborate as needed.
The right candidate will be an energetic self-starter and not shy to comfortably speak and ask questions to ensure they understand the path forward. The individual will be comfortable in all stages of the software development lifecycle and will be able to properly balance detailed communication with key stakeholders, performing hands-on development, and envisioning solutions to be implemented.
Development: Scope, design, develop and execute solutions that are requested by application owners, often considering multiple ways to accomplish a solution. Lead the development of complex ServiceNow applications, modules, and integrations. Utilize ServiceNow development best practices to create efficient and maintainable code. Customize and extend ServiceNow modules, leveraging JavaScript, REST APIs, HTML, and other relevant technologies.
· Configuration and Customization: Work hands on with ServiceNow administration to build complex objects behind the scenes that support operational workflows; understand SNOW related upgrades and patches and how that impacts code base Consilio has in the SNOW platform.
· Continuous Improvement: Review existing functionality and/or processes and identify areas the improve scalability and performance
· Integrations: Support integrations with other technologies by working with developers for other products as well as the Integration Data Management team
· Documentation: Develop technical design documentation outlining solution architecture, workflows, data models, integrations, and user interfaces.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Analytics or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
· 3 to 5+ Hands-on experience with ServiceNow development (Administrator experience does NOT apply). This includes CSM, ITSM, HR Service Delivery, ITAM, ITOM, SecOps modules within ServiceNow
· Extensive experience designing and developing playbooks within Configurable Workspaces (within Custom Scopes or App Engine)
· Experience with Flow Designer, Process Automation Designer, Activity Definitions and building of custom Spokes
· Solid proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and REST APIs within the context of ServiceNow development and experience working with Integration Hub
· Experience working and integrating with other enterprise systems (HRIS/ERP/CRM) such as Netsuite, SFDC, ADP, UKG, HubSpot is a plus
· High level of verbal & written communication skills, as well as the ability to help explain complex technical requirements to non-technical people.
· A capacity for working with minimal supervision in complex projects with considerable responsibility.
· ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), or Certified System Administrator (CSA) strongly preferred.
· Extensive experience designing and developing playbooks within CSM using the CSM Agent Workspace
· Thorough knowledge of SDLC.
