Position Summary

The People & Development Consultant/Associate plays a key role in supporting the recruitment, development, engagement and retention of LOD's lawyer and consultant population across Singapore and Asia.

Working closely with the Head of People & Development, this role is responsible for attracting and selecting high-performing lawyers and consultants, maintaining a strong and diverse talent pool, supporting consultant engagement and retention initiatives, and ensuring the smooth administration of people-related processes throughout the consultant lifecycle.

The role also provides operational support to the Client Solutions team and broader Singapore business, helping to ensure a seamless experience for consultants, clients and internal stakeholders.

A proactive approach, strong stakeholder management skills, attention to detail and a solutions-focused mindset are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Resourcing

Working closely with and directly supporting the Head of People & Development to attract and select high-performing lawyers and consultants across Singapore and Asia, including:

  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, including preparing advertisements, processing applications and managing candidate communications.
  • Screening, shortlisting and interviewing lawyers and consultants.
  • Conducting reference checks, due diligence and background verification processes.
  • Drafting candidate profiles and maintaining accurate candidate records within CRM and recruitment systems.
  • Building, maintaining and proactively managing talent pools of suitable lawyers and consultants across a range of practice areas, industries and seniority levels.
  • Identifying suitable lawyers and consultants for client assignments and working closely with Client Solutions teams on resourcing requirements.
  • Negotiating consultant offers, including remuneration and engagement terms.
  • Utilising multiple sourcing channels including referrals, job boards, social media, professional networks and direct search methodologies.
  • Developing innovative recruitment and talent attraction strategies to ensure access to high-quality legal talent.
  • Supporting onboarding activities and ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are completed.

Consultant Development & Retention

Supporting the ongoing engagement, development and retention of LOD's lawyer and consultant population by:

  • Maintaining regular communication with consultants on assignment and on the bench.
  • Providing consultants with assignment feedback and performance-related guidance where appropriate.
  • Acting as a key contact point and trusted advisor for consultants on employment, engagement and performance-related matters.
  • Supporting salary and rate review processes through market research and benchmarking.
  • Monitoring consultant engagement, utilisation and retention trends.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance consultant experience and strengthen engagement across the business.
  • Drafting and maintaining consultant profiles, biographies and capability statements.

Consultant Operations & Lifecycle Management

Supporting the administration and operational management of consultants throughout their lifecycle, including:

  • Onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Employment pass, work pass and regulatory application processes.
  • Professional licensing and practising certificate renewals.
  • Assignment set-up and assignment change processes.
  • Time entry monitoring and follow-up.
  • Consultant payroll and contractor invoice administration.
  • Managing employee changes, assignment updates and internal communications.
  • Monitoring fixed-term contracts and assignment expiry dates.
  • Supporting compliance reporting and regulatory submissions.
  • Maintaining consultant records, databases and HR systems.
  • Responding to consultant queries relating to systems access, payroll, IT, benefits and administrative matters.

Client Solutions & Business Support

Providing operational support to the Client Solutions and Singapore teams, including:

  • Supporting client onboarding, KYC and vendor registration processes.
  • Assisting with consultant onboarding requirements requested by clients.
  • Supporting client and business development events.
  • Assisting with reports, presentations, profiles and business documentation.
  • Supporting ad hoc projects and initiatives across the Singapore and Asia business.

Culture, Engagement & Communications

Contributing to the development and maintenance of a strong and inclusive culture by:

  • Assisting with the organisation and coordination of consultant events, social functions, CLE sessions and networking activities.
  • Supporting employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Assisting with internal communications and consultant updates.
  • Supporting implementation of initiatives arising from employee engagement surveys and feedback programmes.
  • Building strong relationships across the consultant population and broader business.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and the overall consultant experience.

  • Experience within legal, consulting or professional services environments is highly desirable.
